Lack of Clarity or Perspective

We have gotten to where we are and have been successful. Why in the world does it seem that certain decision paths and problems become harder and less clear?

As we mature, stack these future decisions, paths and problems up on the shoulders of our past success. As such, we perceive more risk and we become more afraid to fail. Weighed down by this perceived risk, many choices become more difficult, leading to a skewed perspective or blurred clarity. In reality, we need a chance to step back, analyze the problem for what it is outside of the emotionally-charged precipice of where we are and who we have become. This is the unanticipated flip-side of experience — what I call overexperience, which is contrary to the youthful mind which is more willing to risk it.
